BR 24 Passenger Locomotive

Prototype: German State Railroad, Class 24
Used in branch line service. Nicknamed "Steppenferd" ( Prarie Pony ).
Model: Märklin #3003 Passenger Locomotive with Tender
Notes: This is my third digital ( delta ) decoder installation. The lok came out of a starter set and was in perfect condition, especially the reverser unit. The decoder did not improve performance, but it does allow it to run with my other loks. There are two versions of this model. The first had an exposed motor coil and solid wheels on the tender. The second had a cover for the back end of the cab area and the tender had spoked wheels.

Some of the models have copper, some have black colored wires on the coil.

The cover conceals this mess very nicely.
Before you experts make a comment about the length of the blue and green wires, I know, they are too long. I was concerned about the state of the wires coming out of the coil and left the wires full length while I tested it. It fits perfectly under the lok cover, but, I do intend to make it a proper length.
